1947 and 1950 DeSoto taxicabs   Yes, a good few years ago, not all of New York’s taxi cabs were full yellow. A few of them were but the vast majority came in a variety of colors - one of the most familiar combinations being scarlet and butterscotch as seen here on our gargantuan 1947 and 1950 De Soto ‘Sky-View’ cabs. Some archival photographs of Manhattan streets of the era are included in this selection.
